I googled this to see what was going on. Looks like a grand idea, evokes so many memories of childhood and imagination. I have a tree I want to put a tree house in. Maybe one day I'll make it.

You can tell I grew up in NC, because I instantly wondered why there are deer stands in Madison Square Park. :-)

That is what my girlfriend from Texas calls them too!

I always wanted a tree house as a kid. These look a bit high though! Is it an art installation?

WHy is there a treehouse in the park?

It does look like a deer blind. (I'm from Texas, too!)

This is a gorgeous shot, KM.

How cool is that? What's the story?! It even looks kinda like new construction!

I found the Tree House art installation story in The Sun.

Funny how it's been there since September...I work not 8 blocks away and have missed it. Gravy.

There are a bunch of them.. at least 4 or 5... this pic captures only two. A while back, I think there was an installation of "trees" made out of metal (very shiny jagged and silver colored.) Love public art!!! Thank you, NYC and benefactors.

Fortunately, our pigeons are much smaller on the west coast.

Oh hell, in Alabama we don't need those deer stands. We wait on em to come on up in the driveway and have at em! Yeeee hawww

Deer? Did someone say deer? Come and get them... they eat every green thing we own her in Virginia. I would gladly take on of those tree stands in my backyard.
