for other/today photo of 49th street & Broadway...I was rather right when I said about more glass today on facades of buildings..Nice...Hawai sounds so exotic..

I wonder where all the cool neon signs go? Junked? Purchased? Sitting in someone's garage? Maybe to the movie industry? Would be a shame to see them destroyed.

I celebrated my 16th Birthday there--tiki glasses and all--had a great time with my high school friend Mel Lerner--33 years ago!!!
It was dark in a cool way--it was fun!!!!

That's a very atmospheric shot. So sad to see so many buildings now demolished.

I love the grain in that shot, and the extreme color saturation. It is such a shame that so many gorgeous old buildings are being demolished. When did New York stop preserving historical buildings? Is this Bloomberg's doing or do I just not know enough about the city history? I'm still not over tinpan alley.
