Englishman on MacDougal

An Englishman In New York is currently being filmed on my charming block, and stars John Hurt as Quentin Crisp. Cynthia Nixon and Swoosie Kurtz too!  Enjoy these '70s era cars being used in the film.  Ahhh, the Kodak moments.

Ah, the taxi is too much! :) Not sure it's the right era, but somehow I hear the Bee Geez singing Saturday Night Fever. And Travolta is about to exit the paint shop.

You know, I learned to drive in a yacht size Buick and if that were not enough, also learned to negotiate traffic and winter weather in it in Boston, MA. I think I can drive anything anywhere now. :) The Smart cars simply can't compete with these.

The cars of an era of mobile art, amazes me when I think of it at times, what fascinating designs were created. Colors too, I recall now salmon with off white, turquoise, sea green, and fins that were plain amazing. Now I have to use my key chain to find my 'silver' car amongst the others in a parking lot.

We're entered into a bland era. But for you, for awhile, take a stroll back in time.

Loved the cars, especially the Caddy and the taxi but the to me idea of John Hurt as Quentin Crisp is the really exciting part.

What fantastic classic cars! They don't make them like that anymore. It must be fun seeing a film being made on your street!

Amazing cars.
I once met Quentin Crisp several decades ago in London.........before his transatlantic incarnation.
Wonderful photos in the previous post.

Did you see my antique cars last week?

Please excuse my cut and paste this morning. . . I have been up to my ears with school work, so commenting has been at a premium lately. I did want you to know I stopped by, though!
