I remember being in London once and seeing this book on British doorways. Thus began my minor love affair with New York doorways. Photographed between King and Canal Streets....these doorways cover many different architectural styles....I find them curiously compelling. Hope you do too! (and I hope the CDP police don't bust me for multiple photos!)
I've always loved photos of doorways (and windows), and these are interesting. LOL at "the doorway!" And the last one's misaligned panel (what the heck is it called?) is actually charming.
amazing pictures Ken....i believe doors are the most important part of a building specially a home...it gives a warm feeling when you see a nice welcoming door isn't it.

Good that they posted that little note at the 2nd. door. I wouldn't have guessed!
Cheers, Klaus
good one!
I've seen one of the posters of London doorways, and I think you've captured the New York version beautifully.
A few more, and you could make (and sell?) your own Greenwich Village posters. ;)
(P.S. I, too, love "THE DOOR" sign above the blue door. :) )
thanks Klaus and Josy....I am glad you took time out to visit my site.
I would have never given a second thought to a door... Great observation and really nice pics.

I've seen them in your Flickr stream. You are still hiding some good one from us! Is that DOOR door a club?
hey all, DOOR I think is from a public school, if you can believe that! I would love to see the doors of Manila and Delhi..hint hint...
So beautiful doors! Love most the 1# and the 3#.
Have a good Sunday!

The Victorians felt it very important to insulate their houses against the cold.
