Sandwiched in the very heart of the Greenwich Village music scene by the likes of The Bitter End, The Red Lion and Kenny's Castaways, The Back Fence has been an entertainment hot spot for 60 years! We have two or three entertainers every night playing every style of music, a great atmosphere with lots of beer on tap and free peanuts that you shell on a sawdust covered floor. http://www.thebackfenceonline.com/

I hope they don't fence you in.

Clever treatment with the fences. -- barbara
Nice place!
Looks quite interesting.
I would be there every night if it is near my house !
this looks like a very cool joint!
This is another one of your shots that confirm that I absolutely do not have an accurate idea of what Greenwich Village is like.
Nice shot! I haven't been there for awhile and with all the joints that are closing, I need to start appreciating what's still here, while it's here!
concur with -K-. hipsters be damned.
very nice.
oh what utter joy to discover you...I lived in the village for the last 5 years of the 20th centuary...I sat in Washington Square Park day after day while my son jumped about in the sand or played chess with the old guys....have abandoned work to look back at all your lovely pictures...we lived in a teeny-tiny apartment on Morton and Bleeker and then round the corner on Bedford...oh happy daze!!
