
Cafe Reggio, at the corner of West Third and MacDougal is the oldest coffee bar in NYC. Amid its ancient paintings, statues and oddball bric a brac, the Reggio holds America's first espresso machine. It sits, a large silver monstrosity in a hallowed corner, little spigots and well worn spouts standing proudly. But the sugar cup makes a better photo.

Very cool! Reminds me of Shaft and Isaac Hayes. I think I did a post about this place a couple of years ago.
jack the waiter moved to new zealand about 6-7 years ago... a great asset to the neighborhood now gone...
