43 MacDougal Street

The biggest eyesore on the block, 43 MacDougal Street (next door to famed rocker Patti Smith) has been abaondoned for years. Water runs in from the open roof, rats have full control of the structure, and the owners are MIA. But  a close look reveals 43's former beauty.

Great details and nice colors. I can literally feel the decay of the building. Excellent!

I googled the address and looked at the street view. Your version of it is much more beautiful.

Why is this being allowed to rot away?

I have a soft spot in my heart for decay, if teeth aren't involved. There's something lovely in the wearing down and away.

I'm having a flashback to my Lyric Theatre shots. That old lead paint can sure curl up and die can't it!!!!! These are wonderful studies in the dying process.

These are very sad photos! What can be done to save this building, anything?

Love the building! As for what color...blue, green etc. etc. etc. Must have been something in it's prime. Thank you for taking us to so many interesting places.
