Minetta Tavern, a watering hole for New York's literary, show business and govt. power personalities since the 1930s is set to reopen March 9. The restaurant, under the new ownership of Keith McNally, will feature a French bistro menu. The joint has been lovingly restored, right down to the window lettering above (and all the old framed photos inside!), sourced from a photo of the original facade. On a block full of frat boys and motorcyles, this level of class is welcome!

Welcome back Minetta .. Keith runs a good joint
That does look like a nice place for a drink - I'm glad you've shown something reopening rather than closing!
Minetta Tavern looks a nice place... and the façade is very charming too! Oh My! I would love to be there!
It looks very inviting!!
Oh yes. I want to have to meet my NYC blogger friends right here. A class joint for sure, KM.
V
looks like a great spot!
This definitely looks like a good place to hang out in Ken.
I like the look of something that has been restored sympathetically and not shiny new. As a francophile too the menu would be to my tastes.
It looks beautiful. Thanks.
Nice photos, I love your description

Lovingly restored...music to my ears and art to my eyes!
Oh, I thought 'how Parisienne' before I read your description. The outside was restored quite nicely and a warm inviting glow from within.
Great blog great photos. Love the village. I stay at 520 Laguardia Place when I get to NY. Your photos are great! The city looks clean and crisp. I'm tuning in regularly and you just might inspire me to visit sooner.
