Amid the gentrification that has turned Tribeca into an enclave for the well heeled, you can still find a few majestic ruins, ancient signs and memories of old New York. These rusty lawn chairs sit outside an annoyingly trendy bar (or is it a shoe store?) called (W) ine. The name says it all, but the chairs are quite dear I think.

I would have immediately bought these wonderful chairs for my terrace. An anti-rust treatment and a lick of paint...perfect!!
They are beautiful, Ken Mac. Very old but nice. I see that both are attached by a chain.
You have amazingly lovely photos of the city.
I came to blogging in NY via blogging in Morocco.
Thought NY would be difficult - but am finding it quite thrilling.
I particularly liked the overcrowded shop window.
All best wishes.
Funky! I love them!
Like Sonia, I noticed the chain too and am wondering about them.
Great chairs! They kind of remind me of fan blades.
they are chained so no one steals them. Still New York after all!
these are quite beautiful, a great find.
Brilliant! Love those chairs!
fortunately they are chained...because I could steal them; a coat of paint and they would be very cute on a terrass.
Nice catch!
Cheers, Klaus
What is that name all about?! Glad the chairs have survived.
I must be so slovenly, because I like the chairs without an extra coat of paint. So long as they don't scratch.
I really despise the trendy(so called)renaming of places/bars/ stores. On the other hand the deaying beauty of these faded ladies is wonderful.
It's not just NYC that has to chain the outdoor chairs. :(
bravo pour le titre (et la photo) ;o)
bravo for the title (and photo) ;o)
PUHLEEZE, the name of the bar makes me gag! You are right, the chairs are terrrific. Looks like Paris but I don't think they chain up like we do here. Wouldn't want to sit in them with a short skirt on. Oh I forgot...don't wear short skirts anymore-ha
Classic!! Great image!!
Thanks for the comments on Photo-Africa. You cannot walk around in the bush as you would in New York so we go around in 4x4 Game Drive Vehicles so still get very close and personal!
I am loving your Blog as we are very keen to return to NY at some point next year. Perhaps we should swop. You visit the bush in Africa and we visit NY?
Hey... for now the Blogs will do!!
I'll be back!!
I would bought this ones on the act... their beautiful and very well captured...
very nice
Can't stand the name of the bar, but love these two beauties. Even growing up in the South, where folks love their lawn furniture, I've never seen any like these.
Thanks for stopping by--yes, Duncan is cute. He was 15 years old on Oct. 28 and still does very well.
Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
