Jersey Shore Scenery

A few pics from my past weekend at Spring Lake, on the Jersey Shore. This beautiful but uninhabited Queen Anne Victorian castle sits one block from the beach, surrounded by McMansions and vestiges of the town's illustrious past. An 81 year old woman owns this house, but refuses to let anyone, including her family, touch it.

It's lovely! I hope that it gets restored one day. The old woman having problems with her family?

we all want to move in! I don't know the entire story with the senior citizen, the caretaker was there and let me take the pics, but he wouldn't tell me any more than that...

xzzLet's hope it's rescued in due course.

These old houses (1892) were built on big lots so you couldn't very well see into your neighbor's nostrils like they build them today.
I did see the "family" preparing to inhabit the McMansion across the street from this jewel: two graying yuppies and their dogs. And the house is gigantic. Hedge fund money perhaps?

A most outstanding shot!! Brings back memories I don't even have!
A simply delicious house. MORE please. - ALL photos are wonderful. I'm traveling through your eyes. You feature exactly what I love looking at. Nothing more intriquing then interesting doorways and old store fronts. (Waffle shaded streets and allies are good too). Wonderful web site. Thank you for sharing. Betty.
