Don't Believe the Hype
Hey! Bloomie is just a regular guy, giving high fives, hanging in the hood -- crap, he might even spring for burgers. I think most mayors would want to make NY into a money-making device. The temptation is too great, and the prospect too easy.
Much more difficult would be to preserve the diversity and quirkiness here.
Just be thankful you live there and not Detroit.
