Don't Believe the Hype
Hey! Bloomie is just a regular guy, giving high fives, hanging in the hood -- crap, he might even spring for burgers. ha. I know what you mean, though I'm glad that Bloomberg is low key, and not the typical 'politician'
I think most mayors would want to make NY into a money-making device. The temptation is too great, and the prospect too easy.
Much more difficult would be to preserve the diversity and quirkiness here.
Your post could have been writted for any politician, and it is getting worse. They are becoming more blatant, and more arrogant, and it is almost as it we, the public, are becoming more stupid!
Just be thankful you live there and not Detroit.
