As a kid growing up in 1940's Oklahoma I knew that Bellevue was a mental hospital in New York City from the old radio shows. If somebody was nuts they "took him to Bellevue". Now I know what it looks like.

Great photograph! My son was born in Bellevue. Not in this part of the hospital (really), but still a highly memorable experience.
