south street seaport

Once home to fishmongers, mobsters and seaman, the South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan is now a tourist trap. Except for this one decrepit storefront, and a woman calling her sister in Elmira.

Looking a bit.....hmmmm....am at a loss for words. However, I love the certain beauty of both rural and urban decay.

Really intersting to see the run down parts of a city as well as the more obnvious well kept areas- thx for a great blog

Ya, she looks a bit despondent holding that bag. Needs a break or at least a bus.

She looks as if she is a little out of her comfort zone

Yep, that's decrepit with a capital D! Where is Elmira?

I'd rather be in Elmira. Upstate NY is gorgeous.

Hard to believe this is a tourist trap.
