How the times have changed. I was at the register at a drug store the other day and glanced at the cigarettes behind the counter. I recognized about 4 brands. I'm not sure what, if anything, that means.

OMG! That is a blast from the past for sure.

WOW ... Now I understand a carton of smokes costs as much as a full tank of gas

My Dad had this same box and I used to snitch cigarettes from his. He also smoked Chesterfields. I remember this box!

I stayed on your site until the wee morning hours. Hope you do not charge me rent. By the way, you really should submit your blog over at BlogCatalog.com It's a great place and they get 20 Million visitors monthly.

God! Talk about how times have changed! This would never be allowed these days. Thankfully.

I have a relative who has been smoking filterless Pall Mall cigarettes since the 1940's, nearly 60 years of chain smoking Pall Malls. So, for me, unfortunately, this is not a blast from the past but a blast of the present.

I really love the aesthetic they had in those days. Never mind the message.

They could make anything look good.

At least some things changed for the better LOL
Sorry, haven't been on your blog for a while. I see David Wilkerson is a favorite of yours. Hubby's start in the 70ties was to be in charge of a Teen Challenge center in Berlin (Germany).

I know smoking is *so* un-pc these days, but I have to say, I miss the old advertisements and even seeing people smoking in old tv shows and movies (I know they still smoke in contemporary media, but not in the OFFICE or restaurants!). and I'm not a smoker...just one of those people who actually thinks it *looks* cool!

These are all great but especially this one as cartons of Pall Malls were a staple in family's house.
