this shot pulls my attention to so many details. the glow over the rooftop, the dark pane in the brightly lit window and why aren't the other three lit,the two patches of light reflecting something across the street, the pattern of air conditioners, a faint light on in the room below. It makes me wonder what kind of building this is and who lives here. Great shot, Ken. Bliadhna Mhath Ùr! (Happy New Year!) Lizzy
A good way to find your way home from Times Square. I can't imagine being in that crowd. Fantastic photo, has such a visual mood to it. Happy New year!
Glad you're back in business. Hope you made it South for a bit this month. Can't wait to see what 2010 will bring! Here's to good health and great photos!

Oh love it! I like how it makes me wonder who is up there, and why they are the only ones awake...
I love this. I love how the brown glow of the sky matches the building and the glow of the light from the window.
The guy whose invite got lost in the post...
Happy New Year!
Just... Ha! The single flash of light makes it.
Splendid!
Happy New year:)
feliz año, un saludo

Well, we're definitely doing that tonight — the new year is less than 3 hours away here. :)
Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and love-filled 2010!

What a great image. Have a Wonderful New Year!
Ooooo. Oddly, we have a Spring and 6th street in LA where this would fit right in.
I love this shot. So much feeling in it. 'Lonely' comes to mind.
Happy New Year!
I think Greenwich Village is my favorite place in the world. I was there last year at this period of the year. Snif snif.....
I know Poe was not from NY but this photo makes me think of the atmosphere of his books.
I love this, Ken. It's like an opening shot of a gritty, contemporary film noir.
You should really run over to Altadenahiker's today to see her amazing collection of pld magazine clippings. You'll definitely LOL.
Happy New Year to you and yours, KM! THanks for another year of great images and insight!
One of the most comfortable in a house is the light in the window.
As one of the most melancholy is a light on the porch...
