Yes. I was a thirteen year old kid in the north of England, when Transformer came out. I'm sure that put the idea of coming to New York in my head, and even now I can't believe I'm here. What music. I love the older material, of course, and some of the collaborations he did more recently with younger musicians. Beautiful. It really does feel like the end of an era.

I used to see him and Laurie Anderson in Les Deux Gamin in the west village back in the 90s...... they used to come in for dessert!!
