The Civil War mansions left to rot in Brooklyn Navy Yard are near collapse. Though two of the five mansions have been slotted for restoration, they are about to drop at any minute. Last time I shot Admirals Row, last summer, the structures were mostly intact. As you can see above, the back wall of this mansion is gone. Chances are the City will let them all fall, so plans for a much needed supermarket in this impoverished era can be realized. Still... a modicum of thought from the anti preservationist Bloomberg administration would have gone a long way towards appeasing all parties.
