I shot this on 42nd Streetin 1990, the day New York announced it would "revitalize" Times Square. The large background sign dates from the '50s, "Video Peeps" and "Calculators Typewriters" is of the '80s variety.
This is great. Nicely composed too. I love those old signs, that one must have been one of the last in town. And I don't think I've seen an ad for a typewriter in 20 years.

Great sign. I hope this is a teaser for what this view looks like today. I wouldn't put it past you.
that building was demolished. I think it's a Chuckie Cheese now, all ten floors...
This shot is spectacular 9 of 10... I bet is not digital...film is film... :-)
this was one of my favorite lost pieces of that block. thanks for posting.
Great sign, sad to read its demolished now. At least you have a photo for prosperity.
Those were the days alright!! :)
Ken, it is interesting information, and you are, definitely a photographer with tradition...
great photo of days gone by.
A shame, such an architecturally pleasing building. All to make way for a Chucky Cheese??!!
I love vintage signs and advertising. Thanks for posting.
I like seeing those old signs and old buildings too!
Fascinating!
