south street seaport
Once home to fishmongers, mobsters and seaman, the South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan is now a tourist trap. Except for this one decrepit storefront, and a woman calling her sister in Elmira.

Meatpacking Girl, 2008
The Meatpacking district on the Village's west side was once home to butchers by day and prostitutes by night, then as gentrification rolled in, rebellion in the form of street art and graffiti appeared. It's all pretty clean today, and totally boring.
