Farewell, Maggie

Maggie was a Golden Retriever who belonged to my girlfriend's roommate. This animal practiced love and devotion and loyalty to a degree that made me cry. When I was very sick, her expressions of kindness and warmth were incredible. And she had a great sense of humor --would steal anything not locked down, then taunt you with it. Now I am crying again, as she makes her journey.
I believe we will see all our beloved animal friends in the next world. Like us, they have a soul, and energy never dies, it just becomes something else.
See you then, sweet soul Maggie.

So sorry for this loss. It sounds like Maggie received and gave a lot of love. A very beautiful girl.

I can relate strongly to your loss of Maggie. I lost my Golden Retriver a couple months ago even though it seems like yesterday. The Golden breed has a gene for friendliness and loyalty. You were lucky to be part of her life and she was lucky to have known you. -- barbara

Wonderful words and thoughts, Ken. Sounds like she was in every sense a gorgeous animal and I hope you're right about meeting them all again in the next world. So sorry you and yours are having to go through this.

We have so much to learn with them, dogs can love unconditionally, I had a wonderful German Shepherd that stayed with me for 11 years, it was a long time ago, but I still miss her every day of my life.

She was fun, kind, patient, funny, extremely smart. Hope she is playing with Maggie somewhere.

oh, I am so very sorry, Ken. She looks like such a sweet dog. I agree with you - animals have a sense of humor (!) and play and empathy that is unique.

You are so very lucky to have known her. I'm sure she felt lucky to have known you.

Hugs

I hope she befriends my quiet, gentle Siopao. It's been several years and I still miss him.

I don't think I've known a greater love than the love shown to me by my golden retriever. He is the finest companion I've ever had ... may the memory of sweet Maggie never leave your side, and I, too, believe we will see them, experience them again...
