well as they say..the old gray mare, she ain't what she used to be. I remember those wooden fence posts before the cyclone came and oddly enough that house in the back ground was a typical two family or even a single family home in Detroit.
It's a different place now as the lights go out, one can actually see star constellations that were no visible ten years ago.

There's something about these old pics!
Great vintage photo!
What beautiful parents. I was raised just outside of Detroit. In 1949 it was a lovely city. Your father's hat is classic 40s. Very nice -- barbara

Always fun to have a look in a family album every now and then.
Ditto Stefan. Where is, or was, that house, what major crossroads?
My father looked the same way, long coat with hat and a suit. Your mother is a very stylish pretty woman.
Cute baby! And stylish couple.
There's so much to love in this photograph!
Their expressions are such a story. Your mom looks, ambivalent, maybe?
Thanks for the inspiration... see my 9/20 post.
Ah, yes. One is steeped in the joy of family photos with this one. It's good for the soul to partake of such memories.
Lovely photo, Ken Mac! I bet is you on your Dad arms.
