Actually, that looks remarkably identical to the Cyclone, which just celebrated its -- I think -- 85th anniversary this year. I could be wrong, but I've been on it something like 40 times in my life. It was the Thunderbolt that was demolished and served as the fictional boyhood home of Woody Allen in "Annie Hall."
@Ken Mac: My pleasure. The photo is interesting though as it was taken before Coney Island underwent its most recent renaissance. The area seen in the photo is far more gussied up these days. :)
Brings back a lot of memories for me as a child living in New York City, and would I ride that roller coaster again well that would be a "no", I'm a scaredy cat now folks! But at least I'm admitting it now, lol. Richard

I wonder where all the scrap metal goes !
Thank you Erica, I stand way corrected!!!
Fantastic photo. Not that I could go for a ride on it (too much motion sickness here), but it's nice to dream about it.
Oh boy, would I ride it.
With a Cyclone into the fog - what a ride (and photo)!
ooh how brilliant!!

How cool is this!!! It should get historic landmark status! Especially nice photo in the fog, Ken.
