These large concrete and marble winged things sit just inside the pier gate where the Carpathia once docked, disboarding survivors of the Titanic. The pair have stood watch for years, silent sentinels to time and disaster past.
They're sitting on metal tubbing and have ties holding them in place. I'm assuming your description represents their past. And now they are being relocated - Why else the harness?

It's as if these things were somehow transported through time, relics of a tragedy.
They certainly have a look of 'being there since the beginning' about them, the design on them is fascinating..
I'm surprised no one took these, even if they were really heavy. I can imagine someone hailing down a cab with one.

I always thought they were relics from the old West Side Highway that was taken down. Anyone know any different?
