Back in the 1960s, you'd travel cross country by car, eat at roadside diners, and most certainly pick up one of these 'wish you were here' travelogue mailers. Like this one, they'd fold out like an accordion, each side showing points of interest around the state. I found this unused one in my mom's things, and will post a few scans from in it days to come.
WELCOME TO THE TARHEEL STATE!

I love these old postcards and fold-out mailers. Looking forward to more of the pics from inside.

Went to DC in 1964 and bought one at the bus station. My family almost missed the bus because I was late getting back.

Sure, I remember these--still see something like them occasionally. Detroit or NY to NC or farther was a big deal once upon a time.

Our family used to have some of these from various places, mostly around the Southeast. Lost them in a fire, doggone it. I look forward to seeing the scans.

Ah... remember these well. As a kid, I looked at quite a few featuring PEI and the eastern Canadian provinces. Thanks for the 'refresher'.

Very cool, indeed. I'm a big fan of postcards; especially "vintage" ones. I have hundreds in my "postcard" tin. Looking forward to more views of this fold-out.
