real Greenwich Village

So that first pic wasn't exactly the Village. I get carried away. Sue me. Here we go...

  1. I thought for a minute you were pulling my leg because that looks like one of the increasingly rare corners of London that the clowns property developers have overlooked. But I guess Manhattan is just as blighted.

Is the bar at the corner of Bleecker and Macdougall still going? Yes, I know there were bars at all corners of that junction and I can't remember which corner but I have very fond memories of passing long hot lazy afternoons outside there, drinking Rolling Rocks and watching the world pass by.

Yes, that is a small mews on the NYU campus. Maybe I like it cause it looks like London! Most mews are private, but a few remain open during the day.

There are still bars on the corner of Bleecker and MacDougal. Figaro's being the oldest. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

And thanks for your comments. I had one comment that perhaps my entries are too negative. But the blighting of our grand cities by the $$$ elite is certainly negative in itself.
