Downing Street Storefront 2007

In the gentrified hell that is New York City, small businesses like this one (plumber), photographed not long after they vacated the premises, have been lost to soulless chain stores. I took this through a window, a week later - poof!

Indeed very strange for a plumber but his hobbies are clear. Still an intriguing photo of a vanishing world.

They should have been slapped around a bit anyway. Decorating like that. I'd call that a 'mess'.
