She had discovered my photo on the web somehow, and contacted some of the other people in the photo. They were all friends (I'm not sure which of the people on the corner they are) going somewhere together. This photo, and Facebook, brought them all back together again after 40 years!

The interesting thing is how random that all is. I took two pictures from that spot. Snap, Snap! The first one was 90 degrees to my left, down 10th street. And then walked away.

You never know...

Thanks for posting the comparison, Ken.Richard Friedmanhttp://rchrd.com/photonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904507364541458515.post-51746444028985681192010-07-21T08:45:25.416-04:002010-07-21T08:45:25.416-04:00it was so cool to look at all the differences and ...it was so cool to look at all the differences and similarities here.chasityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15719839378230751497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904507364541458515.post-64535777422029252182010-07-20T23:23:03.062-04:002010-07-20T23:23:03.062-04:00I like the ONE WAY sign from 1970. Makes one wonder how the locals in 1970 knew when to cross the street.Robhttp://northmetrophoto.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904507364541458515.post-78413710922402398122010-07-19T22:25:16.196-04:002010-07-19T22:25:16.196-04:00I was going to comment on the cobblestones, and ac...I was going to comment on the cobblestones, and actually the city is supposed to restore all cobblestones in historic areas. They are working on Jane St right now, and in Tribeca. There is a NYT article on it this week. So, you never know.
