Jazz Lives!

Though I tend to cover the disappearing face of real New Yawk, one thing is not disappearing, something that is a major part of our city's legacy to the world: JAZZ! Here's trumpeter Steven Bernstein and band at a lower east side haunt.

Looks jazzy!

One of the best young jazz players in Sweden, Esbjörn Svensson died last week in a scuba diving accident.

Ooh, I love jazz! I wanted to go to the Fete de la Musique last night, but typhoon Fengshen decided to drop in on us. =( Had no power the whole morning too—winds blew down something. We're lucky our neighborhood doesn't flood though. Lots of places did.
